Best Manhattan Coffee Shops

Are you looking for THE coffee spot in NYC to relax as you people watch or sip on as you stroll the streets? Then, you've come to the right place. I present you 25 of my favorite coffee shops in Manhattan:

Lower Manhattan

Two Hands - 164 Mott St, New York, NY 10013

Even though, Two Hands is an Australian restaurant and not really a coffee shop, they do make amazing pastries & coffees! If you're in the China town area, I would highly recommend you to stop by.

Black Fox Coffee - 70 Pine St, New York, NY 10005

Beautiful interior and delicious coffee. What more can one ask for?

Café Grumpy - 13 Essex St, New York, NY 10011

Café Grumpy is a New York-based women-owned coffee shop. I used to work near their Brooklyn location. Needles to say I would stop by daily. I would not be able to start my day without tasting their delicious coffees!!

Soho/Noho

Café Leon Dore - 214 Mulberry St, New York, NY 10012

It doesn't matter if it's the hottest day in the summer or the coldest day in winter, the line to get coffee here is brutal. However, if you do get a cup of coffee & manage to secure a spot in the cute seating area in front of the store, you will have an amazing time people watching (and being people watched... because trust me, people want you to get up after 20 seconds of sitting because they want your seat). But overall, it is worth all the hustle!

Saturdays NYC Crosby St - 31 Crosby St, New York, NY 10013

Don't be alarmed that this is a clothing shop. There is a hidden backyard where you can hide away from the busy Soho streets & enjoy your coffee/pastries!

La Colombe Coffee Roasters - 400 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10003

This is a bigger and very vibrant La Colombe location that also has a small outside seating. I love to stop by here after I spend some time in Soho to get away from the crowd. PS: they make the best donuts!!

Irving Farm New York - 78 W 3rd St, New York, NY 10012

You can never go wrong with a cup of Irving coffee. Absolutely delicious!!

Seven Grams Caffè - 175 Varick St, New York, NY 10014

I used to go to this spot every single day before work because I worked a block away from it. Every time I entered this coffee shop I would start drooling because they make the best fresh cookies. Try one and you'll say I told you so!

West Village/Chelsea

Bluestone Lane Collective Café - 55 Greenwich Ave, New York, NY 10014

This location is another perfect spot for people watching after a long day of shopping in West Village. They also have the best brunch food. I am obsessed with all their wraps. Bluestone lane is always a good idea.

Café Kitsuné - 550 Hudson St, New York, NY 10014

With their minimal vibes and cozy interior Café Kitsuné is the place you want to be if you want to enjoy a calming coffee break.

Birch Coffee - 56 7th Ave, New York, NY 10011

Whenever I crave a Chai Latte, I always look for Birch Coffee. Of course, everything they serve is delicious but I seriously crave their chai lattes often.

Think Coffee - 73 8th Ave, New York, NY 10014

Think Coffee is truly amazing for not only coffee but also for their sandwiches. I can eat them all day long!!

Flatiron/Midtown

Remi Flower & Coffee - 906 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10017

If you're looking for a coffee shop that serves more than the normal range of coffee options, you're looking for Remi Flower & Coffee. Some of their tasty and beautiful lattes include Rose Latte, Lavender Latte & Berry Matcha Latte. You can also purchase beautiful flowers at this shop.

Maman - 22 W 25th St, New York, NY 10010

No matter which location you go to, Maman is such an amazing coffee spot. They also have delicious pastries and breakfast meals. You will not regret trying it.

Devoción - 25 E 20th St, New York, NY 10003

Devoción is a Brooklyn-based coffee shop that serves the best farm-fresh coffee. You can really taste the rich flavor when you drink their coffee. The interior is also super calming so you can easily spend a few hours here.

Sunflower Gramercy - 335 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10010

Back when I used to live very near here, me & my boyfriend would go every Sunday to grab brunch. It's such a breath of fresh air in the Kips Bay neighborhood as there aren't many nice coffee shops around here. Sunflower offers many tasty dishes but my favorite would be their Mediterranean Avo Toast. Keep that in mind, when you stop by there!

Felix Roasting Co. - 450 Park Ave S, New York, NY 10016

The interior is truly luxurious and beautiful but so is their coffee. If you're in the Murray Hill area, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Variety - 261 7th Ave, New York, NY 10001

I have both tried coffee at their coffee shops and purchased their coffee beans to make my own at home. Truly rich in taste!

Gregorys Coffee - 20 E 40th St, New York, NY 10016

Gregorys Coffee is a New York-based coffee shop. I love that they make their pastries daily. You can really tell the love they put into their products when you taste them.

Blue Bottle Coffee - 54 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018

Blue Bottle Coffee is always always a good idea. It doesn't matter if you go to this location or another one but their coffee is highly recommended.

Upper Manhattan

Breads Bakery - 1890 Broadway, New York, NY 10023

If I had to pick my top 3 favorites out of this list, Breads Bakery would be in it. I cannot recommend this place enough. They're not only good for coffee but they really have the best pastries. The best part is they make their pastries fresh daily!! If you don't try their potato or spinach bureka you might really regret it. Or you might regret that you tried it because once you have a taste you will go back for more.

Ralph's Coffee - 888 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10021

Ralph's Coffee is one of the perfect coffee spots to people watch. Plus you can shop inside Ralph Lauren after.

Zibetto Espresso Bar - 1385 6th Ave, New York, NY 10019

Zibetto Espresso Bar is my go to coffee spot when I'm going to spend a few hours in Central Park. They are just a few block away from the park's South entrance. I also feel very nostalgic every time I get coffee from their store. I lived in Lugano/Milano for 2 years and this place always reminds me of one of the shops I used to go in Europe.

Joe Coffee Company - 187 Columbus Ave, New York, NY 10023

Joe Coffee is another go to place of mine when I crave Chai Latte. They make the most delicious and rich in flavor latte's I ever had.

Of course, there are many many more to add to this list but if I had to pick only 25 places out of all the coffee shops I've tried in Manhattan, these would be it. If you want more recommendations or have any you would like to recommend to me, feel free to let me know in the comments below!
