Today, we are reviewing the timeless bag that made a huge comeback in 2018. The demand was so high that it was re-released in 2019. It's the Prada Re-Edition 2005 nylon shoulder bag.
I will never forget the day I fell in love with the re-released version of this bag. It was a cold November night. I was walking in Soho and this bag was everywhere on the Prada store's window. At the time it was only available in select stores in the US (or in the world), such as New York, Miami & LA. It was so hard to get, that I had to be on the waitlist for a few weeks. Purchasing online wasn't even an option yet. I have worn this bag almost every day since I purchased it. Now, let's talk about price, quality, functionality & more...
𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭:
The bag currently retails for $1,490 plus tax. If I'm not wrong, back when I purchased it, it was around $1,200 with tax. However, the saffiano leather version retails for $2,050.
𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲:
My most most!! most!!! functional bag to this day! It can be worn as shoulder bag, cross body bag or used as hand-held. You can also take the strap off, add your own, make it a statement. It's easy to dress it up & or wear it down. As you will see in the pictures below, the long strap can be worn as a belt, making the little pouch a belt bag. To add to this, I don't only wear this bag during the day or for a night out. I have also used it for traveling, hiking and even at a theme park. How much more versatile can it get?
𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫:
When the bag was first available, it only came in 3 colors; black, beige, khaki green. Now, it also comes in green, yellow, white, red, grey and these are just a few to name. I have chosen to stay classic with black. I find that it's easy to style.
𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞:
It comes in two sizes. The original size and the mini size. For me, the original size is just perfect. It fits my sunglasses, wallet, keys, phone and some make up. This might seem like not a lot but I wouldn't know what else to carry anyway. The little pouch on the other hand can only either fit an AirPod case or perhaps keys.
𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐫:
I have worn this bag to death and it shows no wear at all. It is the only bag I can comfortably wear in the rain & snow. Prada nylon is basically indestructible. It shows no scratches, no discoloration, no tears.
𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲:
This bag was impossible to find when it first became available. I have seen brand new ones go for over $2k at preloved stores. It is currently out of stock on the Prada website. However, as there are many different colors available now, I'm sure it's easier to find directly from the boutique.
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞:
I bought mine from the NYC Soho store.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:
If you're looking for an indestructible, beautiful, classic bag that goes with every single outfit, I cannot recommend this bag enough. You will wear it everyday and not get bored. It can be worn for every occasion.
If you want to look a bit more dressed up, wear the short chain as a shoulder strap. If you want to look more casual, wear the long strap. If you want to be more fun, change the strap up.
To sum up:
Pros, everything.
Cons, nothing at all.
Would I purchase it again? 100%!! But maybe this time I might go for the beautiful shade of grey this bag now comes in.
